GRAVITON and POSITRON: Two Oven Architectures for Resin Treatment Lines

March 02, 2026

GRAVITON external-elevator tower systems and POSITRON internally moving ovens provide natural stone resin-line solutions for different production capacities and process requirements.

Selecting the correct oven system for a natural stone resin line depends on the material, required production capacity, drying and curing times, automation level and available factory layout.

ION Meccanica offers two different system architectures for the resin treatment of marble, granite, quartzite and other natural stone slabs: GRAVITON external-elevator tower systems and POSITRON internally moving drying and curing ovens.

GRAVITON: External-Elevator Tower Systems

In the GRAVITON family, slabs are placed at the required oven levels by an elevator and tray-transfer system operating outside the tower. Each slab remains stationary during its defined process time.

This architecture is suitable for longer drying or curing periods, separated process stages and flexible resin-line configurations. GRAVITON towers may be dedicated entirely to drying or curing, while GRAVITON COMBI combines separate drying and curing sections within one tower. GRAVITON TANDEM connects two adjacent towers through one shared central elevator and tray-transfer system. The towers can be configured for the same process, as separate drying and curing towers, or as one dedicated tower combined with one COMBI tower.

POSITRON: Internally Moving Oven Technology

In the POSITRON system, slabs move in a controlled sequence through the internal oven levels. Drying and resin-curing sections are managed by two independent hot-air circulation systems.

The internally moving architecture is designed for plants requiring a regular production flow, high capacity and repeatable process conditions. Different configurations are available according to slab dimensions, production requirements and marble or granite applications.

The Right Architecture for the Right Process

External-elevator and internally moving systems are not simply competing alternatives. They are two different engineering approaches developed for different production requirements.

For each project, ION Meccanica evaluates the stone characteristics, resin system, process times, required capacity and available factory space to determine the most appropriate natural stone drying and resin-curing oven architecture.
